DHARMA Initiative aka Octagon Research Solutions ?

The real DHARMA Initiative. If you don't already know about this (LOST did  a take on them for the tv show)- then read on..

If you haven't seen my other DHARMA blog see it first, especially if you are not aware of the DHARMA or Hanso Foundation (founder of DHARMA): http://alysagoodstuff.blogspot.com/2010/05/lost-spin-on-real-dharma-hanso.html

This blog site has good real DHARMA information including videos (some  videos aren't truth so look here and see for yourself, this person listed pretty accurately and has a couple posts, some for the tv show too) http://www.squidoo.com/jointhedharmainitiative

When I viewed the blog above and other blogs I noted in my blog post, I noticed information about the Hanso Foundation (DHARMA Initiative founder) videos, commercials, stuff I didn't notice or realize that my favorite tv show was based on a real scientific experimental foundation, really! Anyway, the one above, I saw in 2008 they were possibly recruiting under the name: "Octagon Global Recruiting" well I googled and all websites regarding DHARMA, Ocrtagon Global Recruiting gone and even for the Hanso Foundation also gone. So I decided to do another search, I typed in Octagon recruit and found Job listings just recently posted at http://www.startuphire.com/search/?Search=Advanced&companyname[]=Octagon+Research+Solutions&k=c . Then I went to the website listed for Octagon Research Solutions, Inc.: (page titled "Who we are") The information quoted below is from their web page: http://www.octagonresearch.com/who-we-are.html

Okay, so here is the details as seen on the site for Octagon Research. The company started "in 1999 as a development partnering organization", they provide regulatory services to the life sciences industry. They have an Octagon symbol within the logo... DHARMA? They do clinical data collection. The site says, "Presently, Octagon has four strategic lines of business that include
Regulatory, Clinical, Process Consulting and Software solutions. Our
offerings combine people, process and technology to provide complete
capabilities to our valued clients."

The site also says: "The Octagon Team has developed “Octagon's Eight Rules of Thumb” that guide our actions and foster an entrepreneurial culture across the
organization. The Rules of Thumb are an integral part of our daily
activities. Because they are so important, the rules can be seen
throughout our various locations and have been incorporated into our
recruiting processes. We encourage entrepreneurial thinking and reward
execution toward our corporate goals.

Octagon’s Eight Rules of Thumb

  • We develop a solution rather than present a problem
    when confronted with an issue.

  • Everything we do, we do on time and to our highest
    standard; what we deliver
reflects on us and the company.

  • We are people with passion, a sense of urgency, and
    self-confidence.

  • We recruit “smart” people with high personal standards
    and a bias for action.

  • We seek people to enrich our culture, not reinvent it.

  • We understand that every client interaction affects
    our growth and success.

  • We service the clients, community and each other with
    commitment and integrity.

  • In order to be successful at Octagon we all need an
    entrepreneurial mindset."

  • ahh humm, Sounds like DHARMA Initiative to me!? What do you all think?

Earthquake again, Mexico California Border 4.5 May 18, 2010

Interesting... Last night I had a dream. A short dream, my home was shaking, really shaking and I knew it was an earthquake, I gathered children, and then I could hear right before going out the front door, as though the Lord was telling me, "Be prepared, don't wait..." and more; I remember mostly prepare. I woke up after that. I think now more so it was about prayer and not being caught off guard, but ready. I more and more these days feel that a larger earthquake will come again sooner rather than later, as it is obvious to us Cali residents, "long over-due". I felt today I was going to see something about an earthquake on the news... sure enough today on abc 11pm "Earthquake in the South-land" Not too big a 4.5, 3s, and 2s. Many earthquakes in the general area. Especially Mexico.
See the latest clickable map (you may need to refresh page to see accurate current earthquake map): http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqscanv/FaultMaps/116-33.html

Pray as always we should, safe from harm.. God bless, amen.  :)
See my other earthquake blog search earthquake while on my site. Good night/day all!

LOST Spin on the Real DHARMA, Hanso Foundation!? Plus LOST Party Tips

In this blog... For LOST Fans DHARMA and Hanso Information and
Tips For Throwing a LOST Beach or DHARMA Party

Yeah okay, I know I am sort of obsessing about LOST, but it's the last Final Season finale (May 23)!
ps Watch LOST Tuesday 5-18-10 to get code to text in a farewell to LOST: http://abc.go.com/shows/lost/farewell-text ((Anyone get the code?)) - Currently, text in 8607 now to get 10 exclusive messages during the Season Finale.

In case you are someone like me and didn't know... The plots of D.H.A.R.M.A. trying to save the world, trying life experiments- it is for real! (I know a lot of you LOST Fans are way ahead of me on this)... Hanso Foundation real. The television show LOST made a spin off of these very real connected organizations. Still a bit confused though about them though. LOST/abc created "Mysteries of the Universe" episodes that seemed real, but then states that it is fiction. Just wonder what truths resemble the actual DHARMA Initiative?

FYI: DHARMA's association with Indian religions such as Buddah etc ie the symbols etc you see on LOST, even the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42 have a DHARMA correlation. I only touched the surface of figuring out the hidden things in here, but the plot of LOST is about good and evil, it is about experiments, and most of all mystery! Excited to find out the end...?

About the real DHARMA: Department of Heuristics And Research on Material Applications, Financial supporter: Alvar Hanso; Mystery?... So much confusion after investigating it... somethings real some not.

I believe this is the real original DHARMA video (Uploaded September 2006) It almost does not seem real but? Especially the ending seemed staged. But, the interview with the Hanso Foundation below does give some truth there too. You will see other videos listed here some not so sure about but check this out for whatever it's worth. Than watch the interview video also below with Hugh McIntire Hanso foundation who tells you more information about what they are about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PPCCcXarkc

Google Map: Micronesia is the location of this 4.815 162.342 (Similar to 4 8 15 16 23 42). Search for fun Micronesia too. Wikipedia also lists information. This is located near Australia.

Throwing a LOST Party on a budget!
Think about what theme suits what you want: Beach island theme or DHARMA Initiative theme?
Picking one theme sets the stage for a more genuine LOST feel.

    Island Beach Theme:
    • Inexpensive palm trees can be placed on walls, I found some at a 99 cents store. Though,  I caution you to stray away from luau theme, especially blow up palm trees unless your throwing a pool party.
    • Hibiscus Flower clips for decor or guests: Oriental Trading Hibiscus Flower Clips
    • Small tropical or ocean scented candles: I found some in mini jars for $1 at Wal-mart
    • Buy some poster board and light brown raffia glue onto poster board for cheap doorway island tent feel. Or check BIG LOTS, 99 Cents Store, or here: Oriental Trading Raffia Island Door Curtains: $6
    • Glue raffia on the middle edge of wear the table edge will be a $1 plastic table cloth in brown or green (leaving enough room for the tablecloth to drop down under the raffia). Check discount stores or Tropical Table Skirt 9 ft $10
    • Add real or fake orange Hawaiian looking flowers around the tables/buffet table.
    • Beach Back drop for inside parties:
    • Ortl. Trading Trop. Beach Banner 9ft $15,
    • Ortl. Trading Beach Background 30 ft $15,
    • Ortl. Trading Beach Ocean 30ft $15
    • Small bamboo plants and other green leafy foliage around the room or table tops.
    • Tropical fruits (Papaya, Mangoes, Pineapples); Coconut cups (avoid adding flowers to straws) or Coconut bowls.
    • Drinks: Coconut pineapple juice. Tropical Juice with sparkling water. Water bottles of different sizes, remove labels.
    • Skewered Meat (Pork for boar meat!) use chunk pineapples too
    • Fish and chips aka french fries
    • DHARMA Labels
    • Have a baker decorate a cake with LOST theme or
    • Make your own cupcakes and embellish with little airplanes, palm trees, DHARMA Sticker on cupcake picks etc. (Good for island or DHARMA theme)

    • If you have the money... www.abc.com shop has LOST items, also CafePress.com search losttv

    • Make invites welcoming guests to the DHARMA Initiative
    • Have guests check in upon arrival
    • Use DHARMA Labels
    • Cook food as seen on TV: Hamburgers, Sandwiches, Fish, Chicken (even Mr. Cluck's Fried Chicken ie. KFC etc visit more info web link below for more labels: Chicken Bucket Label, Apollo Chocolate Labels!)

    • DHARMA Decor Party Supplies Box from abc TV Shop (or copy the idea yourself and print out some DHARMA labels to stick on balloons etc.
    • LOST Show Soundtrack look on iTunes
