A popular cartoon cat that loves lasagna and occasionally gets annoyed by his dog friend, Odie, is presenting himself in digital books for Android! Garfield digital books for Android are available now for mobile devices and also on PC and Macintosh. Garfield makes reading fun and it is convenient to have these stories easily accessible through your Android phone or device.

Some cell phones such as smartphones and also tablet computers have an operating software called Android. With Android you can download and use various applications on mobile devices. Some applications commonly known as apps include digital books. Digital books are electronic books, also called ebooks. These digital books can also be downloaded to a PC or Mac computer and iPad too. What makes digital books special is the fact that there are many to choose from and with digital it is easy to purchase new or favorite stories from your fingertips.

Garfield is a character from the comic strip created in 1978 by the humorous and talented Jim Davis. Garfield was named after Jim Davis' grandfather. The story is set in Indiana which is the home of Davis'. The character of Garfield was created to have mass appeal to its audience, and such is the case still today. Garfield is a highly syndicated comic strip displayed in many newspapers. Television shows and movies have been created as well. Garfield is a very lucrative cat. Merchandise and more rakes in approximately a billion dollars per year.

Garfield is a bright orange, lazy, over-eater who is crazy for lasagna and dreads a diet. He lives with his owner, Jon and his friend Odie the dog. Garfield hates the vet and also Mondays. His owner Jon cannot communicate with him and neither can Odie, but you can expect Garfield to be sure to crack jokes.

Besides the story comic strips, where Garfield got his start a lot more adventures can be read. Garfield digital books for Android make reading even more fun by adding 3D video animation to the story and there is also optional voice narration. In the Android digital book Garfield's Pet Force, Garfield and a couple friends become superheros to help save Cartoon World and his world too after a visit from a muscle cat. The look and feel of this app is that of an actual book including page turning. A nice added optional tool is that sign language of the story is available.

Garfield stories are great for kids yet equally enjoyable for adults too. Garfield digital books for Android reinvent the adventures to make them very entertaining.

Albertson's Wish Big Win Big or Win Small?

Are you one of many collecting Albertson's grocery store Wish Big Win Big stamps? I have a lunch size paper bag full of unneeded yet, collected stamps... up for grabs!

So far I have played along with the game since it's start, the more "grocery product" stamps I earned the more I wanted to shop, wishing to win big! I won $2.00 and didn't cash in. I won $2.00 - 2 more times. I gave one of my $2.00 gifts away to a friend needing a missing stamp. She said I was lucky when I won my first $2.00! It's something right?

There are a few that won bigger prizes, and one wished and won big. The family in need in Anaheim, CA. Got the nice $50,000.00 cash prize. That OC family needed the extra income and I couldn't be happier for them! Yet, I am still hoping it will be me!? Probably not.

My gambling, I hope in this case, Lord forgive me I try to win for goodness sake though. I know I play scratchers sometimes even praying for a win, and the Mega or Super Lotto... so far nothing, and if the California Lotto gives to schools, I haven't noticed it. Well, I have won occassionally with scratchers, not much though and usually a free ticket. I get Albertson's instant win tickets too, even an instant win can of vegetables... I had to laugh about this one.. I'm thinking, I'll pick artichokes if it's available. Albertson's has a good gimmick going, ha that's funny to say. I'm guessing the winning tickets could easily have gotten lost though too, like in a gutter somewhere... that $250,000.00 ticket could just be sitting there, accidentally dropped by an unaware shopper. I hope to find it!

What would I do with the money?
#1 Help my family, #2 Buy a home, #3 Invest, #4 Do something good for the homeless, including animals.

Before you spend like crazy to feed a gambling addiction, shop carefully, Albertson's prices are sometimes higher priced then other retailers. I suggest, a careful shop with coupons and sales.

Alysa Good Stuff Shopping to WIN Tips:
I got Albertson's ice cream with an instant coupon, and a Wish Big Win Big Coupon, plus the ice cream is (currently) on sale so it was a great deal. I also bought some favorite candy bars on sale with the Bonus ticket mark, at a dollar a piece and tripled tickets (tripled tickets until Jan.17th) this doesn't hurt the bank. My guess is the better tickets are after this date (Jan. 17) though. As far as trying to win, shop at different nearby Albertson's stores- that's what I'm doing. Save money, don't spend all your instant win tickets at once, but different times, when new tickets come in, my guess is maybe weekly.

Have fun, but don't be bummed if you don't win. :)

Bargain Eating Tips Make Cheap Meals and Food Banks in Orange County, CA

Depression like status reaches across the US, in Orange County, California you don't always notice. Mom's chatting through the windows of their SUV's while they pick up there kids in the school parking lot line. Commenting on gorgeous weather and their bedroom's ocean view. The Shops at Mission Viejo, The Laguna Hills Mall, South Coast Plaza, The Irvine Spectrum all still busy with hustling sales rack shoppers and big spenders, some with overdue credit card bills.

Even still, a closer look behind the scenes is the children needing free lunches, though they don't feed those on a strict or special diets. Another even closer look, before you drive by that corner and tell yourself not to glance over, or better yet, please glance over and know that the reward is in the giver... A family on the corner sitting together asking for a little help or work. Or the man with a suitcase and a bottle of Windex outside or Wal-mart. Does my 1-20 bucks really help much? I send it off with a prayer. I give with a whole heart, how it is spent is left on them.

So now you know in the really real OC with overpriced rents, even in low income homes, and high sales tax, yes, even glorified Orange County beach cities have poor and even desperate folks. Plus the hungry young ones just starting out on life trying to balance their budgets... these tips and food lists are for all of you. A nifty little article I found on Depression style eating- good read with tips on making food stretch; good staple foods for those on a tight budget. I have also added some information on Food Banks in Orange County, California.

If you don't need extra food, would you consider on donating to the food banks listed here? Keep in mind there are many people with food allergies and special diets that have a hard time finding food they too can eat, think outside peanut butter and wheat, think of other staple foods: Natural Foods, almond butter, raisins, gluten-free (non-wheat) noodles, and canned meats.

Afford a Vacation on a Budget in Orange County, California - Plus Day Trip ideas Disneyland, Beach, Movies, Museum

Think... Day trips as mini vacations! Think locally. With a little googling, binging, or yahooing, coupons and discounts a vacation is possible! As an example, for those that live here in Southern California, Orange County there is a lot to offer... we live in a vacation destination location! I have some day trip ideas. First, here's an idea for a vacation not so away from home, unless of course you aren't in OC. Have you dreamt of an ocean front property? Why not vacation right here in our own backyard? Oceanfront properties can be pretty pricey especially in the Summer months (lasting through September). Yet, if you are close to home, think of the savings: no flights, less gas costs, and no need for a car rental.

I found one oceanfront deal for you in Laguna, CA.:

This oceanfront property in Laguna is for those less accustomed to luxury and more about location. Weekly rates start at $1000 for the studio; Summer rates are $1500. The studio has a large lounging porch right above the sand and big screen TV: Studios De Laguna http://studiosdelaguna.com/

What about Disneyland?

If you want you can book a hotel nearby Disney and park hop for a couple days, or skip the hotel and park hop for the day or more stay home and go back... either way we live close enough that a hotel is not even needed! And guess what? You can find tickets for less! Try Craigslist: Disneyland on Orangecounty.Craigslist.org I haven't tried this personally but you can rent your park hopper tickets for less! Found this: http://cheapvacationforyou.com/ Located near Disneyland in Anaheim, CA.

Try searching for other tickets for concerts, other amusement parks, and other day trip ideas. Local concerts are much cheaper for entertainment. Craigslist, www.pennysaverusa.com for ads and coupons too.

Day trips are the easiest "mini vacations". You can fill your calendar with lots of these: Plan your dining and fun for the day (use coupons), and go home after- you can have lots of "vacations" like this on a tight budget.

Beach Trips:

Park yourself early at a nearby bonfire and barbecue, voila beach vacation!
What you need to plan a beach day/evening: Lots of large throw blankets, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, baby wipes, jackets, sun umbrellas, chairs, towels, a couple coolers, picnic basket, drinks, sandwiches and other goodies (fyi hold the mayo not safe if set out too long), for the barbecuers keep it easy with hot dogs and buns, marshmallows and sticks (real ones or metal for roasting). You can vary this trip for a park trip instead.

Dana Point Harbor Dana Point CA. offers Sports-fishing and Whale Watching: Half priced days Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Calendar/buy tickets: http://www.zerve.com/DanaWharf

There are also lots of freebies out there, search online in your local area for free entertainment.

Here's one idea for you in Newport Beach, CA:
Orange County Museum of Arts: Free admission every second Sunday and children under 12 are free: OCMA.com Rates You can also visit South Coast Plaza nearby for dinner and shopping.

Cheap fun!

$1-$2 Movies! Recently out movies; Dollar hotdogs YAY! Not in California? Look for one near you! http://www.starplexcinemas.com/locations.php
In Orange County, CA- Woodbridge Movies 5, Irvine: 4626 Barranca Parkway, CA 92604 Movie Line 949-733-0980, info 949-733-3795

Make it a Tuesday for Dinner and a Movie!: $1 movies are on Tuesdays and Ruby's diner nearby offers free meals after 4pm for children 12 and under with adult meal purchase also on Tuesdays. In the Woodbridge shopping center there are coffee and bakery shops, a painting class for kids and adult, and a Barnes and Noble bookstore. Nearby a bridge takes you just a walk away to a beautiful lake with swimming ducks. Fun for everyone in the family... even on a budget!

More ideas anyone? Comment and share with your locals. Gotta help each other in this economy.
