Terry Martin Passed Away May 12 a Christian and Legendary Master SurfBoard Shaper

A Southern Orange County, CA Legendary master surfboard shaper passed away May 12, 2012.  He shaped many boards for many surfers for many years. He shaped surfboards for Hobie Surfboards.

The day before he died, May 11,  he signed a Phil Edwards model shaped by Mark Johnson which was made for a Wood to Foam project fundraiser in his honor for May 20 at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point.

His wife Cathy declared that his final hours before he died he sang Psalms 73 and talked with the pastor from Heritage Chrisitan Fellowship church in San Clemente, the church they went to. A friend of mine new this man and said that he never complained even through his painful end and was a good Christian person. She said it seemed like there were about 1,000 people at his service.

Terry Martin was 74, and passed away from Melanoma in his Capistrano Beach home. He had shaped an estimated 80,000 surfboards. His last boards were 2 for Rachel Tilly (Capo Beach surfer) and two others that a couple of his friends helped put final touches to.

Chen awaiting his passport on leave from China to the US. His being blind does not stop him. He is a self taught lawyer and activist exposing China's forced abortion policy. Finally a morally correct view on same sex marriage. Manny Pacquiao, a World Boxing Organization welterweight champion, known as the best pound for pound boxer is also among many things an aspiring Christain evangelist. Manny Pacquiao defends biblical scripture and what is morally correct for marriage. He stated,"It should not be of the same sex so as to adulterate the altar of matrimony, like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah of old."

My perspective is I am not against people, and people have a choice to choose their way of life. As far as what is physically and morally correct and meant to be, same sex does not have a true place in life. Christians view on this is not meant to be prejudgous only have to stand up for what is biblically just and creation of man and woman as God intended, as children are born also from man and woman not same sex, same sex relations is a perversion of creation as God intended.

Sunday Morning! Starting the Day Right. Christian Bible Study Scriptures

Good morning, good Sunday, rest day... or whatever day you rest during the week, be sure to get at least one day a week. God rested on the 7th day after creation, we too need a day off. Today though, I need to get some chores done, and I will devote some time to rest after.

I have a good tip on how to first seek the kingdom of God daily. My children and I remember each day, sometimes they surprise me and say it before I do. My youngest daughter said it half asleep the other day.

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24 (Psalms 118 audio).

Start the day right and read His scriptures, end the day with His word also. The word is the sword, it gets us through all the hardship each day brings. Even hard days I think, "Lord, you know more than I do." What is the purpose of a "bad day"?

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Hebrews 4:12 KJV

There is good in all things for those who serve Him. (For those that believe and want to do His will, that is live in faith and believe in Jesus Christ. An earthquake of 3.8 magnitude occurred at 8:07 a.m. near San Bernardino County, California.

In this photo from USGS the known fault lines are brown. Looking at the fault lines you can see the last earthquake was near other fault lines. Apparently, it did not occur on the actually fault lines, or so I read from another source.

I have concern about the fault lines that run through the ocean, at a high enough magnitude, that is the tsunami potential that I see. Little earthquakes are not a big deal and fairly common occurrence. I wonder when the next noticeable (feel-able) earthquake will occur in So. Cal.

Did you feel the earthquake today? I didn't but my daughter did at school, saying it felt like a bang. A jolt type of earthquake. This small earthquake occurred this morning at 10:37am. a 3.9 mag about a mile away from Laguna Niguel, CA. It was a pretty minor quake. I am upset I didn't get to feel it, I was in north Orange County today and felt nothing. Oddly, this sort of news is exciting in an unexpected, sometimes tragic though, sort of way. Earthquakes are intriguing to me as they truly are from the foundation on which we stand and live. If our foundation crumbles, it is a new start that's needed or possibly an end.

I still believe a much bigger one awaits soon... when, I won't try to guess, I tried that and was wrong. So, I don't need to guess. Like a dream I once had though, there was an earthquake and it stopped at the entryway of my home and I heard God's voice say to be prepared. There was a real earthquake days or so later after the dream similar to my dream, it stopped as I stood in the entryway! Was this dream about an earthquake, or was it about life in general and living for God? I wonder many times about dreams, though many other times dreams seem pointless and strange.

Well, about the earthquake today... not too bad and no major damage or disaster. Most people around here are still waiting for the "Big One" thinking we are due for a large magnitude earthquake, especially with so many earthquakes occurring south of OC in the Mexico area.

There are many fault lines in Southern California that it could create damage along the fault areas and a tidal wave at some point should a larger scale earthquake occur. This would cause some serious damage (which is why in south OC there are many Tsunami evacuation arrow signs now put up recently over the past 6-7 years or so). We are in God's hands, and it is his timing if it happens or not. Natural disasters happen for whatever reason, we do not always understand, God knows.
I noticed in the following scripture in Matthew 24:7 the book and verse numbers, suddenly this reminded me, how we say the phrase, 24/7: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Like a store that is available 24/7, God too is available 24/7. Especially in these days, we should be prepared. We should live in joy but with the knowledge that God is with us always, at all times and live our lives keeping God first in all things.

 Be prepared for earthquakes, for famines, and natural disasters, be prepared for future tribulations.

Be prepared, and don't fret.

A Tribute 9/11 like a 911 call we need Psalms 91:1

It is almost the anniversary of 9/11 when I am writing this. I remember that morning still. I was working as an executive assistant and came into work as usual. My employer came in notifying me about something serious going on. He brought in a mini television and from there, I watched the horrifying news and a second plane strike the tower. The towers collapsing. I thought of bible prophesy. The dawn of the end... end times in bible prophecy that is. Wars and famines.

My young child was away from me at school. I wanted to get to her, but I worked through my day anyway. I felt a sunk feeling in the deep of my heart. I went to the beach before sunset to reflect on those hurting. It was then that I noticed on the sand, a large beached tree trunk perched in the sand and in that trunk, a pole waving the American flag. This memorial on the west coast continues right there on the sand for those on the east coast. Some people may not remember how this flag came to be on this local beach and why it is still there, but I remember every time I see it. I don't know who put it there, or who replaces the flag. I am glad it stands even after rainstorms and after high tides.

Forgetting all the politics, America is about freedom, we the free people. A lot of times politics, and corruption gets in the way of this. Religion gets in the way of life. I do not consider myself religious. "Religion is what kills innocent men, women and children..." someone said. In the case of 9/11 this qoute rings true. I believe in Jesus! I'm not afraid to say it. I don't want to preach it at anyone, but in such a time of hardship and suffering as this world often proves to be full of, yes, even here in sunny old California (it rained and thundered a little today), life can surely be tough and it's by Jesus I want to be. Thank God, that He cares, even if we the people, sometimes have doubted it, we even cursed Him without thought, even accused- Why God, over and over. He still hears, He still cares. God bless those that are hurting and those that have enemies and those that are.. enemies, have mercy. Terrorism even happens on our homeland, by our own people. Terrorism happens. I pray it ceases. John Lennon said, "Give peace a chance..." and we the people, in America feel it too that, "all we are saying is, give peace a chance." One day... I'm thinking though, it's in the next world.

God heal and bless America, the land that I love. 
God help its leaders, those that we need. 

People love each other, in our land. 
People love one another, in other lands.

We're Not All Rich in O.C. Despite the Rumors

Not too many years ago, I did not see Ferraris and Lamborginies in person until recent years when the multi-million dollar homes bombarded the hills. We all don't have money like that. There used to be homes and apartments near the beach even with rents that started at $500.00 and up just a little more than 10 years ago. Currently, those same apartments and other homes are around $1,000.00-$1,800.00 and many much more than that. Recently I heard, that rent is possibly going up, more and more I hear, even from neighbors, that they are out of work and can't find a job similar to what they had.

Life is tough. Someone I know, just told me they did not have rent. Trying to afford the high rent is all to common right now. Orange County, California has very high rents compared to many areas in California or the nation for that matter. You'd think with the high number of those unemployed, small businesses closing, even larger businesses closing, the housing market including rental properties would consider this; instead I believe many believe in the areas value and greed causes them to pocket all the money they can from their properties. Here in Orange County, lowering rent does not seem to be readily considered, especially if you live close to the coastline.

Home in Talega, San Clemente, CA - (Orange County). Many million dollar home sales ended up in foreclosure.

I feel privileged to live here, I am thankful to be in such a gorgeous city that overall is a relatively safe low-crime area. I can't help to think, for how long am I going to be able to afford this lifestyle? Upper-class seems to be doing alright. Though, middle-class seems to be struggling almost as much as the so called lower-class. Honestly, I can't stand the labels. Let's say what it is: the poor, the rich and those in between. Those in between are finding themselves in similar positions as the poor. Some in need that have to apply for government assistance or go to food banks. (If you are one of those in need of any food assistance, search my blog, key word: free food, for information on food banks in Orange County, CA and tips on making food stretch).

Not too long ago, a local bank in my home city now has bullet-proof glass windows inside to talk through when you need to deposit or withdraw money. Growing up here, you never would have thought it. After being robbed repeatedly, it was a precaution they had to take. I'm sure this is the case in many parts of the world. The London Riots is one example. LA has had it's own riots in the past too. Theft is still going on today actually and right here in Orange County. Just this morning, a man robbed 3 banks LA Times: Man Robs 3 OC Banks in 2 Hours

You have to trust in times like these instead of thinking about what you don't have. Worry is worth nothing. Matthew 6:31-33 says: Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.


For anyone new to my alysagoodstuff blog I like to blog about fun on literally any budget, and also family activities that build great memories. It doesn't cost to be happy. Actually, you may already know this, as its been said before, "Money doesn't buy happiness.". Notice the little things that do go your way! If your a mom, be happy for the that bit of break you may have gotten from your kids. On a hot day, cheap "Slurpees" or ice cream from 7-11 or your local convenient store can make your kids happy and make you smile for at least 30 minutes. Bike riding is another great free activity, just be safe and wear helmets. Community pools are another good free or cheap activity for giving yourself a break if you have someone to watch your little ones, and also having fun with the kids. Keep an eye out and when no one's at the pool it's like a luxury pool all to yourself. Enjoy your friends, the sunshine and remember to trust, God really does help during tough times. God bless you!

5.4 Earthquake San Diego, CA 7-7-2010 Rockin in my Chair Orange County

I was just wondering the other day... we haven't had an earthquake recently, I wonder when we are going to have another one. Well as I am working here at my desk with my feet up on a chair, slouchy style, both chairs decided to rock with me in them in a sort of rumbly fashion. So I checked the earthquake site, it wasn't up yet... and then a call from a sister who saw it on the news and here it is on the earthquake site:

I posted an earthquake response "Did you feel it?" survey. They said my area was felt as a 4 magnitude otherwise called MMI 4 intensity felt. Which was higher than some of the LA and San Diego areas. Pretty much the earthquake was a little south and west of South Orange County. Eeek! I will assume we will have more, it seems at the rate of uh, monthly? -here in the south-land.
This rumbling feels like my frustration I had today... the earth gave a preemptive "errr-ahh moment" before my day got difficult. 

If these smaller but large earthquakes are only God's land mumbling in its anger... boy, do I want to be up in the air (with all my family) when it really lets loose!? Will it this year- here and big? Feeling this many earthquakes is not usually what So Cal is like. Yeah we have them, but it's more of maybe a year or two between feeling them as we are now, feeling so many.

Scripture study Revelation 16 and Acts 2- Note, this is for biblical last days reference purposes, not for exclaiming the oil spill situation, that is currently taking place, is for certain prophecy.


Revelation 16 (NLT)

 ¹ Then I heard a mighty voice from the Temple say to the seven angels, “Go your ways and pour out on the earth the seven bowls containing God’s wrath.”
 ² So the first angel left the Temple and poured out his bowl on the earth, and horrible, malignant sores broke out on everyone who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue.

 ³ Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became like the blood of a corpse. And everything in the sea died.

 ⁴ Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs, and they became blood. ⁵ And I heard the angel who had authority over all water saying,
   “You are just, O Holy One, who is and who always was,
      because you have sent these judgments.

 17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. And a mighty shout came from the throne in the Temple, saying, “It is finished!” ¹⁸ Then the thunder crashed and rolled, and lightning flashed. And a great earthquake struck—the worst since people were placed on the earth. ¹⁹ The great city of Babylon split into three sections, and the cities of many nations fell into heaps of rubble. So God remembered all of Babylon’s sins, and he made her drink the cup that was filled with the wine of his fierce wrath. ²⁰ And every island disappeared, and all the mountains were leveled. ²¹ There was a terrible hailstorm, and hailstones weighing seventy-five pounds^[d] fell from the sky onto the people below. They cursed God because of the terrible plague of the hailstorm.

July 2nd: after posting this blog I heard some debate that this is not prophecy as described, I don't think it is a ful-filled prophecy myself and I am not saying it is so... only, maybe. 
I wanted to share my response, again God's blessings with you.

My concern is what God is doing, allowing, and our need to pray, and not worry or debate.

I believe God can allow us to fall from our actions which then is his say so, his doing or allowance for our sinful ways, and possibly God's wrath as he is just to allow for those that turn against him or do not repent from wickedness. On a side note, I think Christians seem to know, even though we don't like to discuss it much, demons are at work and stronger, it seems- at least I feel personally. In Revelations 16:3 We don't know that the "flask poured out" by the second angel isn't the allowance of the oil to come out as it did. I can see why some may dismiss this as prophecy, but I think we may be watching prophecy "in the works".

It is alright to me if someone disagrees with it being prophecies, for what I think- it is more of a warning of the time frame we are in. And the dreams I have about things before they happen correlate with the last days. (Which is at times, hard for me to share this with others.)

"In the Last Days" we hear, and I feel his warning spiritually. Maybe it's sounds strange to some, but, it is personal, that I feel what I am saying. I can't say IT IS this now, but I think it COULD be the start, but only depending on the time frame of what we see and how everything pans out over time? I'm not going to debate what I haven't seen fulfilled.

We don't see everything at once, just like "everything in all the oceans died". This could be years and years so other things could also then be seen as it too unfolds. Basically, how do we see it and when? The vision based on 1st, and 2nd angel etc. The first is talking about those with the mark of the beast had plague and sores and worshiped his statue- that could be many people who worship Satan or? and could have diseases? Maybe we don't understand it, and it hasn't panned out in our time frame compared to God's no time frame. I'm not certain.

This description is very accurate actually only in a beginning stage if it gets worse and does not stop, that's how you know. "The second angel poured out his flask upon the oceans, and they became like the watery blood of a dead man; and everything in all the oceans died." (The Living Bible). So, only we can wait to see if and how the first two of the scripture pans out and then the 3rd-7th angel tasks.

Yet Another Earthquake 6-14-2010 Southern California

I was working on my blog when I felt some rumbling below my feet and my desk shaking. Very minor in my area felt more like a 2-3 magnitude. I gathered my children and stopped at the front door, just like my last "earthquake dream", in it I stopped before we went out the door. Except in my dream, I felt/heard the voice of God telling me to be prepared. We do need to be prepared as this is more earthquakes in such a close time (all over the world too) than I can remember in all the years growing up here. Are we really prepared? We have some bottles of water, can food, band-aids, and... what about our souls, are they prepared for any unexpected events that may bring life change? We got to live for Him. Keep the faith.
