Struggling Financially in Orange County? High Gas Prices! Sell Online for Extra Cash!

Gas prices are nearly $5 a gallon in southern California. Unemployment is needed by many families and others are trying to make it by each month by selling their belongings. This is of course not limited to Orange County, CA but I'm sure many places around the world.

ebay.com is a great way to make extra money, just take it from me though and charge for shipping carefully or you can lose money with shipping charges. (Just happened to me and I've been selling on ebay for years!)

etsy.com is another great place to sell, though sales are usually much slower than ebay, yet you can sell for a higher amount for most items through this artsy, crafty, handmade and vintage site.

tophatter.com is an exclusive auction type selling site worth checking out. I noticed beautiful art was sold for better real value than ebay would sell for.

Craigslist.org is another selling avenue for local sales. Just be very weary of scams, spam emails and of course careful to give out your information and do not sell items alone as a precaution. Best to meet at a busy location or if at your home, in the day time hours.

pennysaverusa.com is a great source too, though since craigslist has gained exposure, this seems to have less buyers then through Craigslist.

ebay also offers free online classifieds as well.

My daughter's school doesn't offer a school bus and with high gas prices this has a big effect on my budget. Gas prices need to come down or we need a better affordable transportation system in effect soon, like hybrids and or electric/solar or water fueled vehicles. They are out there but not the norm and not readily affordable to struggling households with mid to large families. I currently drive a Premium fuel V8 and recently paid $4.85 a gallon!

Get through this economic time by being creative... if you have talent use it! Can you sew? Can you draw? Do you like scrapbooking? Get busy and start selling I am.

God bless,
Alysa from the OC

Good Deal Vintage 80's-2000's Dolls JEM Strawberry Shortcake Bratz Barbie Sale Information

JEM is
Truly outrageous, truly, truly, truly outrageous!

Fun site I found thanks to someone's link on someone's blog! When you go to the site choose either Pranceatron Toys (they also have sales on ebay: pranceatron), or Jem Vs Pranceatron. They sell vintage to now toys, dolls, and doll accessories via email very cheap, starting at $0.25 and up.

I love JEM and the Holograms and Misfits- so cool, you can find the cartoon episodes on YouTube. After looking at some vintage toys, I wish I kept my vintage Strawberry Shortcake dolls, even if they were a little ratty. I really want the first set of Jem and Misfit dolls, especially Jem doll, like since I was a kid and they first came out! On my to get list. The Jem Vs. Pranceatron site has very good information on JEM dolls and accessories, perfect for collectors searching for good stuff!

So check out this site it's a little "JEM"! http://www.pranceatron.com/

Oh, on a side note, I want this JEM wig! http://www.80stees.com/products/Jem-Wig.asp?referer=Shoppingcom_JEM021&

OnlineAuction.com Sell for less than Ebay! Is this the next big auction site!?

If you have seen other online auction sites, and saw nothing really comparable to the top auction site of Ebay- you should check this site: www.onlineauction.com While your at it look me up! Search seller AlysaVan - I have a collectibles and good deal designer clothing- just a good mix of upscale resale, treasured gifts- new, used and vintage items.

This online auction site, simply named Online Auction (www.OnlineAuction.com or www.ola.com), seems to be an established company to try if you are tired of the rising fees on Ebay or the incomparable efforts of free auction sites. This site has a few options for joining to buy or sell. I was happy to see only a monthly fee of $8.00 us per month to sell unlimited, with extras like larger thumbnail photos, extra photos and if you want you can pay $10 for a featured gallery homepage listing. It seems that so far the site is doing fairly well. Sales seem to favor vintage jewelry, coins, and sports cards memorabilia. It is worth trying, somebody should stand up against the power auction house of Ebay!

If you want you can join what they call OLA Houses (comparable to Ebay stores) for $196.00 the first year and $96.00 each following year- limited to 1 million first founding members! Check it out on there site for up to date policies/fees. I will tip my glass to lower selling fees any day- here's hoping it makes it more popular, spread the word too for buyers if you like it!

As always I like saving money and offer this tip not to steer anyone away from Ebay or other auctions, nor am I affiliated with Onlineauction.com - but when I find a good find, I will be sure to share. I will update more after I have had a longer go at this auction site to see if my selling efforts have paid off!

God's blessings and hopes for prosperity! Alysa
